Landscape Survey
Depicted through my digital photography are landscapes that express many feelings, including sadness, loneliness, and aloneness. These photographs show homes and businesses as they sit in the world today. The landscapes that have drawn me to photograph them show abandonment and decay in the suburban environment.
Sometimes gloomy, these images also hold many colors and textures. The abandoned houses or businesses were once new buildings and kept up. Now in their decay, their colors and textures are shown in the form of weathering and rot. Wet and rotten wood, chipped paint from years of brutal weathering with no upkeep create a texture that is original to each own image.
