In the Jewish faith, there is a tradition of leaving a rock at the burial site of a loved one. Instead of leaving flowers which will eventually wither away, a rock is eternal as is its symbolism. The rock symbolizes the permanence of memory as well as the legacy of the person who has passed. By placing a rock, it leaves a marker showing that someone has been there to visit the grave. It also serves as remembrance of who passed, showing that their memory lives within and lives on through us. This body of work was photographed to show this tradition.
